Nat & Kelly - A Lyme Regis Wedding

I first connected with Nat and Kelly after shooting a wedding of one of their relatives. After just a few emails, it was clear that this was going to be a special wedding, so when I learned that they were getting married on the Jurassic Coast, in the town I grew up in and went to school, I jumped at the chance for a Dorset getaway!

Lyme Regis is a place with a special place in my heart, it is here I have fond memories of my school days, summer jobs and fun with friends. Nat and Kelly holiday here regularly and have many fond memories of their own... this view will never get old!

The day started cool and cloudy but the sea was calm as my second-shooter and I arrived at the venue. Admiring the gorgeously still Lyme Bay, we hauled our gear down to the venue. Nat and Kelly were holding their wedding in the beautiful Alexandra Hotel, a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Lyme. It's had a bit of an upgrade since my day and is now a clean and contemporary space, leading to that famous lawn with dazzling views - the place really appealed to my sense of style!

I arrived to find Kelly and her eight bridesmaids in the throws of preparation - if she was feeling nervous or stressed, she certainly didn't show it! I have never seen such a relaxed bride! I had a ball photographing all the details.

Meanwhile, up the hill in Uplyme, the groomsmen were laying bets on the probability of it raining!

The ceremony took place at the beautiful little parish church in Uplyme (one of my favourites!). just a short walk down into the village for the groom. A short shower was not going to ruin the day!

The ceremony was beautiful featuring a song by the bridesmaids that made this otherwise professional photographer well up! The couple dodged the showers back to the Alexandra for dinner, drinks and dancing!

The party went on long after we left, finishing with toasted marshmallows on the lawn. Thank you Nat and Kelly - I had a blast!
